There they are, crawling in the streets.
Rags as prominent clothing attire.
No books to read, no notes to be taken down.
Lingering hunger for days or even weeks.
Surviving on grains in puddles of mud.
Enduring wicked winds and deafening storms.
Cruel breeze lurks within their empty soul.
Staggering droughts mercilessly haunt their livelihood.
Sick and weak, without medication, they were left to die.
Barely able to stay alive, they seek refuge in each other's company.
In fear, they utter their prayers...
Only God knows how much they have endured.
From victims of war to those who were had lived in a poor nation all along, this is their life. This is how they had lived.
This is, POVERTY.
Think of every single time you :-
- Leave your plate of fried rice undisturbed because they were distasteful
- Bargain with you mother so that she won't force you to eat
- Believe that staying slim makes you prettier
- Drain the bathtub dry after a long shower
- Left the tap water running because, "It's just water!!!"
- Go shopping spree to catch up with the latest trends
- Sleep peacefully in "Slumberland" mattress curled up in a comforter
- The air-conditioner was turned on 24-7 because you can't stand the heat outside
- Go on holiday trips enjoying life to the fullest
- Drive 2 minutes to the nearest sundry shop because you were reluctant to walk
Please, have a little guilt, at least.
Being poor is not everyone's dream. It is not their destiny. It is not their fate. We heard their cries, don't pretend to be deaf when God promoted us to be His ears.
WE can help to change the fact for them, if WE, are able to dig in deeper and care for them.
Don't get it wrong, this condition is not stagnant.
Don't step out, it won't be contagious.
Don't avoid them because you don't know them well.
Don't make it a kill for them because of your ignorance.
Don't turn your back and make it a fatal favour.

God granted us with great minds to think alike, and heal those in need.
God gave us a pair of fine hands, use it well with good deeds to share.
God gifted us a pair of fine eyes, see things with our kind hearts.
God assembled us with a pair of feet, why not go the distance and put your best foot forward!!!
