Elixir of Love

A beautiful scene from the Elixir of Love
[2004]

I almost like every movie that Miriam Yeung starred in - Undercover Love, Sound of Colours, Hooked on You, Dry Wood Fierce Fire and My Lucky Star. I might missed some, but who cares?

Miriam Yeung

I enjoy fantasizing the girl she always portray. Simple, happy-go-lucky, fun, easy, carefree, idiotic but has a charming side. Often, she has a adorable persona that keeps me glued on to my couch.
Though she might laugh her head off at very simple things and act her way out with her own cheerful charm, she's a sober too. She can cry real quick. In emotional flicks, her acting skills can make you sob with her too! [paiseh, maybe just me...].

To elaborate more, her movies are actually my comforter in those dreadful days... Yes, I can keep watching the same DVD again and again just to laugh and feel better. Even chocolate doesn't de-stress me that much! Geng leh!!! She don't hide her personality even on tv(s)/movie screen (s) - so, why must we?? She's an absolute natural actress with a way on her own.

My way of stress relieving. Just to stay happy and keep those hurtful things out of sight.

It works!!!

Wanna give it a try???

p/s : NO, I don't join any fan's club. And No, I don't keep her pix underneath my pillow.

Menstrual cycle

This is the basic component taking place inside of women's body in 28 days.
And, guys still think that it's just a few days time!

www.maybebaby.com.au/_fertility_timing.php

The basic thing that makes any normal woman special.

Not lengthy fully-treated hair, not long and curvy eye lashes, not plenty of make-ups, not sexy delicious curves, not hairless features, not sleek satin white milky skin, not fake breasts, not deep cleavage, and certainly not just a beautiful face.

Consider this,

A chance to give birth to a child.

Aren’t we, women are born to bear the seeds of love? Most of you would not agree to what I’m saying here. Particularly, those trapped in modernisation. You would say that women are not destined to be servants of man’s desire. That, we are not ‘convicted’ to bear their child for 9 months.

A diagram just to refresh your mind of what you've learnt in high school.

Learn more about yourself!

Ladies, please be proud that you have this special advantage where none male (by record) possess. It is really special. Feel blessed that you have God given ability to be feminine. Don’t sit there and moan when you are aching from menstrual discharge. Why not find something enjoyable to do and be pleased that you don’t have complications when some other women have?

And then, you’ll start questioning, why men would not get swollen belly for more than half a year and go into labour? Suffer the most agonising pain in an entire women’s life? Even bet their lives to give life to the most precious thing that had been living within them for the past 9 months? [YES people, pregnant mother do face life and death situation while giving birth. One of my cousins passed away while giving life to her daughter…sad.].

[Guys would surely keep quiet by now].

Well people, I’m not here to scare you. I just want to let you guys know, how important it is to have a good healthy body. Eat well, exercise, keep yourself fit and strong, rest well, do check-ups regularly, maintain good mental health and stay happy. You might consider that you are still young, and anything you do now would not have any effect towards later life. You are SO wrong. Your menstrual cycle tells a lot about your body – whether you are healthy, are you having enough of sleep, eating balance meals, indicative of the medicines/supplements you are taking and etc. Learn more about your body – it is your choice to understand what your body needs and what your body rejects. Don’t depend on others, you are the key to your own life.

Start grading yourself today!

Ladies, consider this too,

A chance to drama keeling when we are having PMS!

Guys, oh please! Don’t give us that pathetic look. Menstrual pain is nothing nice to deal with. Imagine having your lil’ bro having cramps not because of excitement but of pain! Some idiotic guys just can never understand. They would make jokes bout ladies having PMS and laugh out their lungs. [On behalf of the girls - @#$%&*]. No, we don’t like it.

Most of us in the hectic world today suffer a lot of period pain. Why? Stress and pressure make up to most of it. Furthermore, junks and improper diet, skipping meals and lack of nutrients [sounds familiar huh??!!]. And then, we claim that time is never enough.

Well, excuses!

The thing is, we are working too hard. So hard on ourselves, that we neglect this important ‘SELF’ concept. Ladies, we ought to take good care of ourselves because this part of our inner health is really not as simple as you think.

Gain time for yourself. To do whatever you need to do to protect your health.

Maintain an active lifestyle. How?

  • Chart your menstrual cycle!!!
  • A brisk walk in the morning.
  • Make salad and juices.
  • Tune your stressors to cooking instead! [Hey, even guys do that, ok! MK is just the perfect ideal guy for this example].
  • Groove in some of your fav oldies / Simply jam in new R & B songs. [Whatever you prefer].
  • Aromatheraphy would be something new!
  • Warm shower and massage [Don’t pay, do it yourself!].
  • Adopt a pet from SPCA. [Don’t if you don’t have time or space for them].
  • Go shopping! [Pasar malam is a good idea too].
  • Spend some time with your loved ones – family, friends.
  • Organise a party (Slumber party? Gathering? Just for fun?)
  • Take pictures – environment, scenes, people, yourself…
  • Read up [WWW is so accessible now, don’t be lazy, ok!]. Some prefer hanging on to a book.
  • Pick up a hobby to do whenever you are bored.
  • Write – diary, blog, letters…
  • Set aside work and personal agenda.
  • Charity is a MUST!
  • Go on an exercise regime – make up a routine.
  • Hanging out with ji muis!!!

To me, every women is beautiful – it is just a matter of being in or out.

READER'S DIGEST - Being Green

Oh, since I've posted the previous mag regarding environment, I figured that I might as well post this one too.

Being Green.

READER'S DIGEST - November 2007.

http://www.readersdigest.com.my/rd/rdhtml/en/magazine/mag_online.jsp?srch=cv

Cute cover!

This is another edition of environmental issues, but by Reader's Digest. This US top leading mag offers a list of the greenest countries, including M'sia!!! They do discuss other issues such as solutions in garbage problems and our responsibilities as citizens.

Not much info to be obtain from the website unless you subscribe to it. I bought it for RM 15!!!! Yeah, way higher than TIME's. Well, the content is worth reading with jokes, health, social, economics and other issues.

p/s :

No, I'm not a magazine agent!!! And NO, I'm not working for anyone.

TIME - Heroes of the environment

I was browsing through some stuff to make birthday cards at the bookshop nearby my rented house here, when I came across this magazine.

Heroes of the Environment

TIME - October 29, Vol. 170, No. 17.

http://www.time.com/time/specials/2007/0,28757,1663317,00.html

This is a special edition issue where they feature entrepreneurs, moguls, leaders, activists, rockers chemist, scientist, innovators, visionaries, broadcaster, movie star and lots more, who are pragmatic enough to help save the environment.

This mag includes among the ever famous Al Gore, David Suzuki, Robert Redford, Prince Charles, David Attenborough, Tulsi Tanti and more.
They are the brave heroes with heroic acts who embraces any ill circumstances just for one cause - saving the environment. Applause people!

Conservation work is not easy. It took a whole lot of effort to deal with the public, the media, and worst, the decision makers - politicians. Conservation means hard work and constant struggle. People without enough of will and passion would not have succeeded in a long-time run for charity. Yes, conservation is no BIG money. Therefore, there are few who would really go the distance.

Al Gore is one of those politicians who stepped up to announce to the world that the deteriorating environment is a global issue. In this issue, the Nobel Peace Prize winner's famous documentary - An Inconvenient Truth - receive some comment regarding a few misleading facts. Read up! Quite interesting. And yet, after so many series of debates following the release on this documentary, it is still worth watching.

Look up for further information at

http://www.time.com/time/specials/2007/0,28757,1663317,00.html

or, better still if you can grab hold of the mag for just RM 8.50 [that's the price when I got mine]. I hope it is still in stock!

Happy reading!
