This is another edition of environmental issues, but by Reader's Digest. This US top leading mag offers a list of the greenest countries, including M'sia!!! They do discuss other issues such as solutions in garbage problems and our responsibilities as citizens.

Not much info to be obtain from the website unless you subscribe to it. I bought it for RM 15!!!! Yeah, way higher than TIME's. Well, the content is worth reading with jokes, health, social, economics and other issues.

I was browsing through some stuff to make birthday cards at the bookshop nearby my rented house here, when I came across this magazine.

This is a special edition issue where they feature entrepreneurs, moguls, leaders, activists, rockers chemist, scientist, innovators, visionaries, broadcaster, movie star and lots more, who are pragmatic enough to help save the environment.

This mag includes among the ever famous Al Gore, David Suzuki, Robert Redford, Prince Charles, David Attenborough, Tulsi Tanti and more. They are the brave heroes with heroic acts who embraces any ill circumstances just for one cause - saving the environment. Applause people!

Conservation work is not easy. It took a whole lot of effort to deal with the public, the media, and worst, the decision makers - politicians. Conservation means hard work and constant struggle. People without enough of will and passion would not have succeeded in a long-time run for charity. Yes, conservation is no BIG money. Therefore, there are few who would really go the distance.

Al Gore is one of those politicians who stepped up to announce to the world that the deteriorating environment is a global issue. In this issue, the Nobel Peace Prize winner's famous documentary - An Inconvenient Truth - receive some comment regarding a few misleading facts. Read up! Quite interesting. And yet, after so many series of debates following the release on this documentary, it is still worth watching.

No, I don't snap cool pictures. I was often depicted in silly acts or funny, blurred looks.

That's me.

I prefer to smile, really smiling. It is important to me that people feel comfortable looking at my pictures rather to stare hard trying to figure the frown on my face. It is a way to tell your friends and family that you are doing all right. It feels good to bring joy and happiness to people's life with just a simple smile.

A simple deed,
with a handy tool - your curved lips.

So keep smiling!

Moving In Together

From the closest friends, they could be the worst rivals.

That is the result of living together when we are staying under the same roof with our friends. Weird right? Well, that should be the case which many of us [I meant to say students equivalent to my stage; be it college or universities] had experienced.


Many might feel bewildered with what I'm proclaiming here. But, it's really true [speaking of which, I'm one of them]. You might assume living with good friends are the nicest thing in the world - you can spend more time together, share more dirty lil' secrets, cook and share meals, do laundry together, shop for groceries or just simply, do everything together. Sounds scary to me now!


I don't deny that good friends are those that are accountable to our needs - emotion, social, psychological and the least would be financial. Yes, true. Imagine having bonded to each other 24-7 and when one suddenly leaves [for vacation, duty-calls etc.] the keling drama starts. You either desire more attention or just grew tired of facing each other too much. It can either be fun and exciting or it can be invasive and bonding. Careful people, being expose means no privacy. You sure you don't need that? Think again.


The worst kind would be living with boys! I repeat, BOYS! Not gentleman, mind you. Especially those who talks loudly, slam doors, stamp their feet while walking, act like jerks, howling laughters, short temperament, mind that never seem to grow an inch, NEVER EVER do their share in maintaining cleanliness [and helpful enough to help dirty the house], party all night long when you are having major exams and barks at you when they have emotional breakdown. These are the ground-breaking type - Class A.

People with an attitude like me? I wish things took a good turn in the first place, before they went ugly.
[sigh].


Living together basically shares everything - food, drinks, toiletries, snacks, gas, electric, internet and more bills coming! Money always get into our way. Fatigue would be on the shoulder of those who are held responsible for other people's own responsibilities [bill collecting, dividing and even to the extent demanding for pay!!!]. Not fair!


When it comes to getting dirty, oh... you know what I mean. Some really kept an eye close in doing chores as if they had hired an Indonesian maid somewhere and using household stuffs at other's expense. Some worst, they turn a deaf ear when they were told to do theirs!! [Grrrrrrrr........]. Maybe I'm too clean, the dangling spider webs really bugs me, ALOT. Imagine having to clean after other's dirt. Do you like it?


All of a sudden, the usual discreet intimacy shared beforehand doesn't feel the same anymore. Friends stop talking to each other. You wish that you had moved out sooner. The perfect friendship collapses. Your world collapses.


Sigh. Of course, this is not what you had in mind when you planned to live together. Your path crossed each other's initially and then, at one junction, both of you took a turn at separate directions. So what? It is not the end of the world.


If what you learnt throughout the entire duration of living in are hatred, jealousy, ego, selfishness, narrow-minded, bold, disgust, loneliness and blablabla - you are so NOT a grown-up! Wake up people. There's more than that that we should have endorsed in life. You can't be that shallow right?


My advice? Keep your best friends at different homes! (",)
