It really had been a hectic weekend. Nevertheless, it had been a wonderful get-together before our one-week break for the auspicious year! And here we are, dressed colourfully for our last session of video-conferencing with undergraduates from Lima, Peru. They were all astonished to discover how our dresses vary from one another due to our multi-cultural community in Malaysia. We were then proud of our M'sian status. It somehow gave people from foreign countries some real ideas that there aren't only one race in this peculiar country. Although we would laugh at the remarks they made about us (mainly Chinese and Indians) being migrants, somehow, it was a depressing thought that people don't really understand our vast variety of culture here.
Just around the corner, the new year for the Chinese would be celebrated for a month long. Celebrations in Malaysia are meant for everyone-even though Chinese New Year are mainly celebrated by Chinese, but over here, people of other races get their share of fun too. Nevertheless, Malaysia is known for their many celebrations and festive holidays.
I really hope my pictures does not only open eyes but also, open your minds to who we really are.
